STACKIT is the cloud and colocation provider of the Schwarz Group (parent company of Lidl and Kaufland), operating exclusively from its own data centres in Germany and Austria. The platform delivers a comprehensive portfolio spanning virtual machines, managed Kubernetes, object storage, managed databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB), load balancing, and Cloud Foundry PaaS — all billed on a transparent pay-as-you-go basis with no egress fees.

All data is stored and processed exclusively within the EU, making STACKIT fully shielded from third-country legislation such as the US CLOUD Act, and 100% compliant with GDPR by design. The platform holds BSI C5, ISO 27001 (IT-Grundschutz), SOC 2 (ISAE 3000), ISO 20000, and TISAX certifications, positioning it strongly for regulated industries including finance, healthcare, automotive, and public administration.

STACKIT follows an API-first development philosophy, exposing all capabilities through a stable API backed by an official Terraform provider, CLI, and SDKs for Python and Go. With two cloud regions (Germany-South and Austria-West), each comprising three availability zones, it enables geo-redundant deployments and robust disaster recovery architectures within European borders.

As part of Schwarz Digits, STACKIT is on a publicly stated trajectory to become Europe's first hyperscaler, combining enterprise-grade scale with genuine digital sovereignty — a credible alternative to US hyperscalers for organisations where data residency is non-negotiable.
